Supermicro ARS-511GD-NB-LCC: DGX Station GB300 Inside

The Supermicro Super AI Station ARS-511GD-NB-LCC is Supermicro’s implementation of the NVIDIA DGX Station GB300 platform, in a 5U tower. We photographed one with the side panel removed at ISC 2026, including the liquid-cooling loop that most published material only shows as a rendering. Below are verified specifications, what the interior looks like, and how it differs from Gigabyte’s version of the same NVIDIA reference design.

The cooling loop is the interesting part

Supermicro describes the cooling as serviceable closed-loop, and the photographs show what that means in practice. Two large copper cold plates sit directly over the superchip packages, fed by braided hoses through quick-disconnect couplings with red locking collars — the loop can be broken and rejoined without draining the whole system.

More telling is the rear panel. It carries externally accessible ports labelled LIQUID LEVEL and DRAIN. A closed-loop cooler you can top up and drain from the outside is a different maintenance proposition from a sealed unit: coolant loss over a multi-year deployment stops being a reason to return the machine.

Air handling is conventional and solid — stacked Sanyo Denki San Ace 80 and San Ace 92 fans pulling through the radiator above the cold plates. These are industrial-grade fans rather than consumer parts, which matters for a machine expected to run continuously.

The practical summary: Supermicro optimises for operational life — Titanium-grade power efficiency and a coolant loop you can maintain in place. If the machine will run continuously for years in a lab or office, the Supermicro’s serviceable loop and the Titanium PSU are the arguments that matter.

Who this machine is for

The defining number is 748 GB of coherent memory across CPU and GPU. Models that would otherwise have to be split across several discrete GPUs fit in one address space, which removes a large amount of engineering work before you get to any actual research. That suits fine-tuning large open-weight models, long-context inference, and simulation work with datasets that simply do not fit in a conventional accelerator.

The second driver is cloud independence — data that is not permitted to leave the premises, or utilisation high enough that renting no longer adds up.
