No, newcomers are absolutely welcome! We don't want "specialists" for the position, but generalists who can be trained quickly.

We will show you everything you need for shipping. We will also train you on the individual components, and you will then know exactly what belongs together and what does not in order to be able to pack orders optimally (Because good customer service is very important to us).

1. Work for a minijob is limited by earnings - 520€ gross per month (13,5€ per hour gross).

2. For part-time job we pay 13,5€ per hour gross (i.e. before taxes). This is a guaranteed salary (*).
The salary is paid precisely according to your working hours - if you work more hours, you get more money. So for every hour you work, you get 13,5€ per hour.

Working hours are recorded in Excel spreadsheets, I trust my staff here to record the correct time.

We don't have "time clocks" 🙂

(*) i.e. no "bonuses" are included in the salary, as Amazon does, for example, as far as I know.

We are absolutely flexible when it comes to part-time work. You could also work "only" 15 hours a week for us (I even want to place ads for this, e.g. to give mothers with children in daycare a chance).

Every hour helps us, because I (Max, managing director) e.g. am packing myself at the moment... and other work is left undone.

You are also welcome to work more if you like the work and later increase to full-time. Or depending on how much is going on in your private life / your circumstances change, adjust the time. Since we bill by the hour, you can decide for yourself how long you want to work.

Unfortunately no at this position, because you can't take the warehouse "home" to pack the packages for our customers 🙂

With our other positions, we are as flexible as possible.

In principle, we are as flexible as possible. If you have an exam, a doctor's appointment or other personal matters, we try to make it possible for you to start later or leave earlier.

Unfortunately, at this point it is not possible (at least not usually) to start in the afternoon. This is due to the delivery services - e.g. UPS, DHL - these usually come in the morning or early afternoon. We must have packed the packages by then. It is important for us that our customers receive the packages as soon as possible (good customer service!)

Saturday is normally free with us 🙂
However, when we receive a large number of orders or a new product comes onto the market, we also exceptionally come in on Saturdays. However, this is on a voluntary basis and is discussed internally among colleagues. We then compensate for this with another day during the week.

1. Not as close to center as some other positions

Due to moving office to a bigger and more modern warehouse, we were not able to locate as close to the city center as I originally wanted.

2. We expect you to work hard

Sometimes there is a very high work load / time pressure and many tasks. I don't ask for overtime, but I'm very grateful when employees - like Stephie - work hard and are flexible.

The packages are sometimes heavy and unwieldy - you have to be able to lift up to 31.5 kg. Good news: Thanks to us moving to the new warehouse, you will not have to lift them a flight of stairs anymore - we are now located at ground level.

3. English required in some cases

In some cases we deal with English speaking customers, as well as suppliers - this may be a disadvantage if you don't speak English well, but not a huge one (since others on the team speak English very well).

As you can see, we are trying to resolve these issues over time, and to continue to improve working conditions, work-load and other factors which are part of a good working life.

As for the equipment (printer, ant, strapping machine), we will of course train you - everything is really easy to use and you will definitely learn it quickly.

Stephie, who started out as a shipping clerk, has proven her talent in supporting, and particularly looking after, major accounts. So I (the managing director) was able to transfer other tasks to her.

Our employees are challenged and since the team is still quite small, capable people quickly take on more responsibility.

Which of course also pays off.

1. You arrive at the iron gate and either Stephie (support & dispatch employee) or I will let you into the company.

2. You look through the support tickets to be able to process last-minute change requests or cancellations from customers before shipping. At the same time, Stephie prepares the incoming payments - so that you can start shipping orders from major customers straight away.

The wholesale orders are our normal goods, but in larger quantities (for example, 50 Raspberry Pis need to be carefully packed in a box for shipping, and then weighed).

3. Then you start with the regular shipping. You go through the list of orders (a PDF) and make a note of which goods you have to get from the warehouse. You also pay attention to whether the customers order things that do not belong together - for example the wrong power supply unit (microUSB instead of USB C) or the wrong HDMI cable. (Don't worry: we'll train you on it, and after a learning phase it's always the same).
The goods that are ordered particularly frequently are directly at your packing station, but other items have to be fetched.

You get the goods and then mark all the orders that you can send without problems (You take care of the others after shipping, for example if something is missing from the warehouse).

4, You then start shipping - and go through the addresses of the customers. For some customers, for example, you often have to get the packing station address in the right format. The weights of heavy shipments must also be adjusted, and shipments that are not You click on "Print labels".

5. As soon as the labels are printed, you start shipping. You work at the packing table and put the goods in the boxes, pad them well with packing paper, stick the DHL label on them and then put the finished shipments in a box for shipping.

Most of the time the doorbell rings during shipping - you take care of it and pick up the packages that are delivered with the hand truck or the ant. You count the goods that have arrived, take them to the warehouse and book them into the shop (possibly only after dispatch).
